Encouraging residents to make the care home feel like home

carole-outside1Every room has a TV point and a telephone may be installed if the resident so wishes. Residents may bring their own personal possessions to make their rooms more homely, and are encouraged to continue to pursue any leisure interests they may have.

All rooms have been furnished with private en-suite facilities. Individuality plays an important part in our lives and residents will be encouraged to personalise their bedrooms to reflect this. Rooms are private and will not be entered by anyone unless by invitation. Residents will be encouraged to bring personal possessions as can be accommodated within their room; these items are treated with the care and respect they deserve.

Communal areas, gardens and a patio for all residents to enjoy

On the ground floor is a large communal lounge where the residents spend most of their time enjoying the company of others and take part in Warrendale Cottage active social life.

There is wheelchair-access to the large secluded rear garden, which has well established trees and shrubs. A gardener attends regularly to ensure that the garden is well-maintained throughout the year with a variety of colours and scents.

In 2015 a large garden room was built with easy access. In the garden room is dining table to enable residents to be able to eat somewhere different, enjoy afternoon tea or entail their visitors. There is a large patio area in front of the garden room, with tables and chairs. To the side are raised planters so that residents can continue to enjoy gardening.
